Breast Feeding in Public
In an online survey, 1,036 adults were asked questions about their attitude towards breastfeeding in public and about how long mothers should continue to breastfeed. Most of the participants were female (68%), non-Hispanic white (87%), well educated (84% with a college degree or higher), and residing in the northeastern US (68%).
Not surprisingly, men were about half as comfortable as women with women breastfeeding in public. Men were also half as likely as women to approve of breastfeeding past two years of age.
