Recall: October 6, 2009. Daiso has recalled approximately 130 childrne's toys, purses and pen cases because the surface paints or zippers contain excessive levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard.

The recalled items include dragonfly-shaped balancing toys; lion, frog or bear children's purses, children's purses with rainbow stripes, pen cases shaped like candy with 'cool ice cream,' 'sweet cake' or 'fad hamburger' on the front; and inflatable baseball bats with 'home run' printed on it. The recalled items were sold in Daiso stores in California between March 2008 and May 2009 for $1-$4.

What to do: Take the recalled product away from a child and contact Daiso for a free replacement toy or refund.
