Product: Coby Rechargeable Batteries Sold with Portable DVD/CD/MP3 Players strong>Importer: Coby Electronics Corp., of Lake Success, NY Recall: October 22, 2009. Coby has recalled approximately 19,600 rechargeable batteries that were sold with their portable DVD/CD/MP3 players with 8.5-inch screen, product number TF-DVD8501. The recalled batteries have a serial number that begins with 'HY' that can be found on a sticker on the battery. The recalled players with battery were sold in discount, electronics, music, toy, office supply stores and by other distributors nationwide from January 2007 through September 2009 for $140-$275. What to do: Remove the recalled rechargeable battery from the player and contact Coby for a free replacement battery. The player has not been recalled and can still be used with an AC or DC power adapter. Contact: Coby Electronics toll-free at (877) 305-2629 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday. |
