Product: Cambridge Silversmiths Flatware Distributor: Cambridge Silversmiths Ltd. Inc., of Fairfield, NJ Recall: October 22, 2009. Cambridge Silversmiths has recalled approximately 13,000 flatware sets because the plastic decorative inserts on the handles can detach and pose a choking hazard to children. There have been at least 28 reports of the plastic insert detaching including one injury (details are unavailable). The recalled flatware includes the Fiesta Masquerade and the Home Olympic 20-piece sets. The Fiesta Masquerade flatware has handle inserts that are red, orange, yellow, green and blue. The Home Olympic sets have handle inserts that are black. The Fiesta Masquerade sets were sold at JC Penny, Federated Department Stores, Bealls and Homer Laughlin from November 2008 through May 2009 for $70 per 20-piece set. The Home Olympic sets were sold in Target stores from August 2008 through August 2009 for about $30 per 20-piece set. What to do: Stop using the recalled flatware and contact Cambridge Silversmiths for a free replacement.
