IKEA Roller Blinds

Product: IKEA ISDANS, TUPPLUR and ENJE Roller Blinds

Distributor: IKEA Home Furnishings, of Conshohocken, PA

Recall: October 27, 2009. IKEA has recalled approximately 533,000 roller blinds because the looped bead chain can pose a strangulation or entanglement hazard to a child if the chain is not attached to the wall or floor.

The recalled blinds include the ISDANS, TUPPLUR and ENJE roller blinds that are made with a solid or sheer fabric and measure 24 inches to 79 inches and have a metal top rail and bead chain. ENJE has a glued label on the wall fitting showing the IKEA logotype, article number, 5-digit supplier number, four digit date stamp (YYWW) and 'Made in Taiwan.' The roller blinds have an orange warning label attached at the base of the blind that is marked with AA-136800-3.

The blinds were sold in IKEA stores nationwide from July 2005 through July 2009 for $10-$55.

What to do: Check the recalled roller blind to make sure the tension device is attached to the bead chain and installed into the wall or floor. If it's not attached, stop using the roller blind immediately and contact IKEA or go to the Returns and Exchanges department of your local IKEA to receive a free repair kit. The repair kits will be available the second week of November 2009. Please contact IKEA if you have trouble installing the tension device.
