Recall: July 28, 2009. BabySwede has recalled approximately 6,500 BABYBJORN® Babysitter Balance and Babysitter Balance Air bouncer chairs because there may be small, sharp metal objects in the padded area of the textile cover that can stick out and pose a laceration hazard. No injuries have been reported.
The recalled bouncers have a red safety latch on the height adjustment mechanism and a plastic footrest with the BABYBJORN® logo. The following models and colors are recalled:
Babysitter Balance:
Black/Red; Model #009064US
Black/Silver; Model #009065US
Dark Blue/Blue; Model #009066US
Brown/Beige; Model #009069US
Babysitter Balance Air:
White; Model #009001US
The recalled bouncers were sold nationwide, online and in catalogs from September 2008 through July 2009 for $170 (Babysitter Balance) and $190 (Balance Air).
What to do: Stop using the recalled bouncer and contact BabySwede for instructions on how to return the product for inspection and relabeling. If metal pieces are found, then the bouncer will be replaced.
