Backyard Play Systems' Outdoor Playset Gliders

Product: Backyard Play Systems' Outdoor Playset Gliders

Manufacturer: Backyard Play Systems LLC, of Monroe, MI

Recall: June 4, 2009. Backyard Play Systems has recalled approximately 1,800 Outdoor Playset Gliders because the retaining rings that secure the glider to the playset can become loose or detached, posing a fall hazard to children on the glider. There has been at least one report of the retaining ring falling off but no injuries.

The recalled glider is a green molded plastic glider designed for two children that is sold as a swing accessory for home play equipment marketed under Heartland Play Systems, Yardline Play Systems and Backyard Play Systems. The gliders were sold by Backyard Buildings and Lowe's stores nationwide, and by Costco.com, Bettymills.com and backyardbuildings.com from February 2008 through May 2009 for $100.

What to do: Stop using the glider immediately and contact Backyard Play Systems for a free repair kit. Registered owners should have been contacted by Backyard Play Systems.

Contact: Backyard Play Systems toll free at (866) 890-2211 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday and between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET Saturday (March through October) or Email Backyard Play
