Recall:
June 17, 2009. Macy's has recalled approximately 33,000 Epic Threads and Greendog hooded sweatshirts because they have a non-functional drawstring at the base of the hood that poses a strangulation hazard. No injuries have been reported. The recall involves boys' and girls' small and medium-sized Epic Threads sweatshirts and girls' small and medium-sized Greendog sweaters with non-functional ties. The Epic Threads sweatshirts were sold in white, gray, maroon, yellow, blue, green and black and had images printed on the front and/or back. The Greendog sweaters were sold in brown and grey. Only sizes small and medium are affected by the recall.
The recalled sweatshirts and sweaters were sold in Macy's stores nationwide from July 2008 through March 2009 for $32-$50.
What to do:
Remove the draw string at the base of the hood to eliminate the strangulation hazard. Or, return the item to any Macy's store for a refund.
Contact:
Macy's toll-free at (888) 257-5949 between 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, or online
