Product: Tupperware Shape-O Toy Maracas Importer: Tupperware U.S. Inc., of Orlando, FL Recall: April 16, 2009. Tupperware has recalled approximately 44,000 Shape-O maracas because they can break and pose a choking hazard to young children. The handle can also pose a suffocation hazard. Tupperware has received at least two reports of maracas breaking, but no injuries. The recalled maracas are Shape-O blue and red toy maracas with yellow handle. They were used by Tupperware representatives during sales presentations. The maracas have star, square and other geometric shapes cut-outs. The maracas were sold in Tupperware's Holiday 2007 and Spring 2008 product catalogs from September 2007 through April 2008 for $5.50 and $11. What to do: Take the recalled Shape-O maracas away from a child and return to Tupperware for a refund or gift certificate. Consumers can download the return form from the Tupperware website (see below).
