Product: Gap Infant Toggle Coats Retailer: Gap Inc., of San Francisco, CA Recall: April 30, 2009. Gap has recalled approximately 19,200 toggle coats in the US (and 3,900 in Canada) because the toggle fasteners can detach and pose a choking hazard to a young child. There have been no incidents reported. The recall involves four Gap infant toggle coats: the Rose Toggle Hoodie (style 600298), the Pink Duffle Coat (style 600344), the Blue Plaid Toggle Coat (style 600942) and the Mojave Toggle Coat (style 600942). The recalled toggle coats were sold in infant sizes up to 24 months. The toggle coats were sold in babyGap, GapKids and Gap stores nationwide and online at www.gap.com from October 2008 through April 2009 for $20-$50. What to do: Stop using the recalled toggle coat and return to any babyGap, GapKids or Gap store for a refund. Consumers who return the coats before August 31, 2009 will also receive a 20% coupon for a regular-priced item. If purchased online, contact Gap (see below).
