Recall: June 12, 2008. Pacific Cycle has recalled approximately 15,000 spinning quad merry-go-rounds because the inner bearing can fail, causing the seat assembly to fall and posing an injury hazard to children riding on it. There has been one report of a fall and abrasions resulting from use of the merry-go-round. The recalled merry-go-round is Playsafe Spinning Quad model 22-PS045, skn # 669523, which has four yellow seats and black and silver metal bars. No other models are affected by the recall. The merry-go-rounds were sold by Toys R Us nationwide from January 2008 through March 2008 for $80-$100.
What to do: Have children stop using the recalled merry-go-round and contact Pacific Cycle for a free retrofit bearing kit and instructions. Or, return the entire merry-go-round to Toys R Us for a refund.
