Product: 'Hip Charm' Key Chains Distributor: Wal-Mart Stores Inc., of Bentonville, AK Importer: FGX International Inc., of Smithfield, RI Recall: June 19, 2008. Wal-Mart has recalled approximately 39,000 Hip Charm key chains because the charms contain excessive levels of lead, which can be toxic if ingested in large quantities. This recall is an expansion of the April 2008 recall where 12,000 Hip Charm key chains were recalled after a nine-month-old boy was found mouthing a charm on a key chain and was found to have high blood lead levels. The recalled key chains have several charms including a button, clover, leaf, and heart. The charms hang from a silver-colored chain. The words 'Hip Charm' are printed on the product packaging. The recalled Hip Charm packages have one of the following UPC codes: 03156811032 03156811029 03156811019 03156811016 03156811018 03156811028 03156811030 The recalled Hip Charm key chains were sold in Wal-Mart stores from April 2005 through June 2008 for $0.50 - $6.00 What to do: Take the recalled key chain and charms away from a child and return to Wal-Mart for a refund.
