Product: Sky Champion Wireless Indoor Helicopter Importer/Distributor: TWIE (also known as Tradewinds International Enterprises Inc.) of San Francisco, CA Recall: May 29, 2008. TWIE has recalled approximately 152,000 Sky Champion Wireless Indoor Helicopters because the lithium-ion rechargeable battery can overheat and ignite the helicopter and/or nearby materials and pose a burn or fire hazard to the user or people nearby. There have been at least two reports of helicopters that have caught fire, but no injuries to people or property. The recalled indoor helicopter has WIC 551777 and UPC code 630990006005 printed on the packaging, and BH26047 on a sticker decal on the tail. The helicopter is made of foam and plastic and measures 7 inches by 3 inches, and the transmitter measures 6 inches by 4 inches. The helicopters were sold only in Walgreens stores nationwide from June 2007 through November 2007 for $20. What to do: Stop using the helicopter and return it to TWIE immediately for a refund. Do not return it to Walgreens as they will not receive returns, provide a refund nor replacement product.
