Product: Cinderella 12-volt Ride-On Vehicle Manufacturer: Dumar International USA, of Franklin, MA Recall: February 19, 2008. Dumar has recalled approximately 64,000 Cinderella ride-on vehicles because the wires under the hood can short circuit and pose a fire or burn hazard to the rider(s). There have been at least 40 reports of the wires overheating, including smoke coming out from under the hood, but no injuries. This is a blue car with pink seats and wheels and 'Pontiac Solstice' printed on the rear. 'Walt Disney's Cinderella Special Edition' is also printed on the license plate. The car is designed for girls ages 4-7 years old and was sold in Wal-Mart stores nationwide August 2005 through February 2006 for $200. What to do: Take the recalled car away from a child and contact Dumar for a free retrofit kit that includes a new battery.
