Recall: February 7, 2008. West Music has recalled approximately 5,500 transparent toy egg shakers because the end caps can detach and the beads inside can fall out and pose a choking or aspiration hazard to a child. No injuries have been reported, but there has been one report of an end cap that detached. The recalled egg shakers are transparent white with red, white, green, dark blue or aqua beads inside and were sold in West Music stores in Iowa and Illinois, through the West Music catalog, at www.westmusic.com and at West Music exhibit booths nationwide from October 2006 through December 2007 for about $2.
What to do: Take the recalled egg shaker(s) away from a child and contact West Music for a replacement product.
