Recall: January 17, 2008. Sears/Kmart has recalled approximately 17,000 My First Kenmore stoves because the bracket that connects the front oven door to the stove can cause the unit to tip over when opened. There has been one report of a child who was bruised when the door was open and the unit tipped over. The stove is self assembly, and painted wooden play stove that has six white stove knobs and a timer in the front, above the door. The stoves measure 33 inches high x 11 and inches wide x 13 and inches deep and were sold in Sears and Kmart stores nationwide from September 2007 through November 2007 for $100.

What to do: Remove and throw out the bracket that connects the oven door to the stove base. Then contact Kmart or Sears for replacement bracket information.
