Claire's Children's Necklaces

Product: Claire's Children's Necklaces

Manufacturer: Claire's Boutiques Inc., of Hoffman Estates, Ill.

Recall: March 15, 2007. Claire's Boutiques is recalling approximately 58,000 children's necklaces because they contain high levels of lead, which, if ingested, can cause lead poisoning. No incidents or injuries have been reported. The recalled necklaces were sold in several styles, all on a silver-colored chain: metal pendant shaped as a monkey, a dolphin or a frog holding a colored marble; a colored fleur de lis; a silver fairy with black wings; a set of three "BFF" necklaces in rhinestones; and colored tiny handcuffs. The items were sold in Claire's stores nationwide between December 2005 and December 2006 (ARV $5-$11).

What to do: Take the necklace away from your child and return it to Claire's for a refund or credit.
