On school nights high school students get an average of 7.2 hours of sleep. The recommended number of hours is 8.5 to 9.5 hours. Over a two-week period, 14% of high schoolers say they were late or missed a day of school completely because they overslept. During the same period, 28% admitted to falling asleep in school.
