According to the Consumer Products Safety Commission, every year there are over 210,000 toy-related injuries serious enough to warrant a trip to the emergency room.
The rule of thumb when buying for children under three is to avoid any toy small enough to fit into an empty toilet paper tube. Remember to check small parts that may come off a toy.
