Selecting a good child safety seat for your child has become a little easier. Soon the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) will start rating the seats based on how easy they are to use and install. All must meet safety standards. Each seat will get an A, B, or C based on: • Does the seat come preassembled? • How clear are the labels attached to the seat? • How clear are the written instructions? • How easy is it to install the seat in your car? • How easy is it to correctly strap you child into the seat? All this information is available on the NHTSA website, www.nhtsa.gov. |
